Please Note: 2357 BS7671:2018 (2022) Amendment 2

The 2357-022 test is the current version of BS7671 and includes Amendment 2. Centres wishing to take the latest test, including the Amendment 2 updates and the May 2023 Corrigendum, must book on the 2357-022. 

These qualifications are designed to provide new entrants and those seeking progression in their career, with the opportunity to develop the necessary skills to carry out job roles and responsibilities associated with the installation and maintenance of Electrotechnical systems.
This qualification is available at Level 3 only, which is the level that the Electrotechnical industry recognises learners as having achieved the competence required to carry out the role.

We are issuing digital credential to learners who have completed this qualification.  Please add your learners’ email address during registration. A digital credential cannot be issued without the learner’s email address.

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?
This level is ideal if you've worked in the industry for some time. You have plenty of experience, and you want to develop your skills further, perhaps to move into a management role.You choose one of two specialist pathways:
  • Electrical maintenance
  • Electrical installation (buildings and structures)

To complete these qualifications, you will cover topics including:

  • Health and Safety legislation
  • Principles of planning and selection for the installation of electrotechnical equipment and systems
  • Fault finding.

What Careers Can This Lead To?
Achieving one of the Diploma in Electrotechnology qualifications will help you find work as, or advance in your current role as an electrician.

 In addition, we also have a number of Higher Level qualifications offered through ILM.
What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?
To deliver these qualifications you will need qualified assessors and suitable facilities – The requirements for these can be found in the qualification handbook. Centres currently offering the 2330 and 2356 qualifications will be given automatic approval, all other centres will be need to fill out a full (QAP) qualification approval form

Level 3

What Careers Can This Lead To?

Achieving one of the Diploma in Electrotechnology qualifications will help you find work as or advance in your current role as an electrician.

Those who want to progress in their careers by building their knowledge while gaining plenty of practical, on-the-job experience can most likely take one of the Diploma in Electrotechnology as part of the SummitSkills Electrotechnical Apprenticeship programme. Full details of the new apprenticeship framework are not currently available.

  • Level 3 Certificate in the Certification of Electrical Installation (Design, Erection and Verification of Electrical Installations) (2391)
  • Level 3 Certificate in the Building Regulations for Electrical Installations in Dwellings (2393)
  • Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems (2399-11)
  • Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems (2399-12)
  • Level 4 Higher Professional Diploma in Building Services Engineering (4467.)
