The Award in the Principles of Nutrition/Nutrition in Food Production enables the learner to develop their knowledge in nutrition.
These qualifications are aimed at chefs/learners who want to further develop their understanding of nutrition and it's benefits.

General Information

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

You'll cover things like: 

  • Understanding the fundamentals of nutrition.
  • How nutrients can be maximised when preparing food in commercial environments.

 Assessment will be through assignments

This qualification gives you greater flexibility when studying and allows you to transfer credits across qualifications. You will be awarded credits for each course of study you complete.

Centres will be required to complete a full (QAP) qualification approval form.

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?
Anyone can take this qualification., but you will need suitable facilities to carry out the required training to enable learners to achieve industry standards.

In order to offer this award staff should be occupationally competent to carry out training and assessment.

Centres currently offering the Level 1 Diploma in Introduction to Professional Cookery (7100-81) and Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery(7100-82) can gain fast track approval to offer the 7165 Nutrition qualifications.

There are no eligibility requirements.

This level will suit you if you already work in a job and want to increase your nutritional knowledge and understanding.
