China is undergoing rapid development, with a strong demand for both Technical and Vocational Education and
Training (TVET) and a skilled labour force to meet both local and international economic opportunities.
Currently, there are skills shortages in Hospitality and Catering, Leadership and Management, as well as a demand for
internationally recognised Accreditation, Quality Assurance and Teacher Training.
To help reduce these skills gaps, City & Guilds is working with training providers, universities, schools, colleges and
governments throughout Asia to develop relevant skills training programmes; and employers to define critical skillsets they want to see in their recruitment process and as part of staff development programmes.
We advise Governments internationally on vocational skills framework reform to meet the demands of a rapidly
globalised economy.
In 2000, City & Guilds was honourably registered as approved awarding body in China by Ministry of Labour and Social
Security (OSTA, MOLSS, PRC). It is one of the few awarding bodies approved by the China government.
Remark: Ministry of Personnel and Ministry of Labor and Social Security have merged to Ministry of Human Resources
and Social Security (MOHRSS) in 2008.

The Assured recognition service ensures your programmes are benchmarked against our quality standard – giving you the confidence and reassurance that your in-house training is the best it can be.
- Our Assured service provides external recognition for your in-house, bespoke training programmes.
- One of our expert Assured consultants will review your programme against our five core components. We also recognise both face-to-face and digital learning, assessed or non-assessed training – and training delivered in local languages.
- If the content is leadership and management focused, it will be reviewed holistically against ILM criteria.
- If your programmes meet the benchmark standard, participants will receive certificates and digital credentials

The Global Hospitality Certification, by City & Guilds, is a brand new global skills framework for the hospitality industry. Created in partnership with Worldchefs and employers, it is the first and only professional skills framework in the world. It has been co-designed with industry professionals to recognise the skills and experience of those working in hospitality.
The Certification sets a global benchmark for job roles across:

- housekeeping.
