Automatically issued to learners on the successful completion of a programme or qualification, digital credentials are a visual award designed to be shared to social media platforms, added to LinkedIn profiles and embedded in an email or on a webpage.
As learners collect, share, and showcase their achievements, digital credentials represent a rich learning journey of verifiable skills development which employers, customers and peers can engage with online.
Visit our Digital credentials page to learn more about the benefits of credentials.
When an employer, customer or peer clicks a credential to view its information they will be taken to the credential page where they can find out:
- Who the issuer and recipient are
- What the credentialed programme/qualification covers
- What was required to earn the credential
- What skills the recipient can demonstrate
- Earning criteria that made the recipient eligible for the credential
- When the credential was issued and if it’s valid or expired
This allows the skills and competencies of an individual to be validated in an easily accessible way.
Learners who have successfully completed programmes and qualifications with City & Guilds will be automatically issued a digital credential to recognise their achievements.
Digital credentials are issued by email and sent directly to the learner using the digital credentialing platform.
Personal learner email addresses
Providers and employers registering learner details must ensure they include the learners personal email address. This information will be used to issue the digital credential to the learner on the successful completion of their qualification or programme.
