This is aimed at practicing electricians, operating in the domestic environment, to gain an understanding of how electrical installations in dwellings must comply with all relevant Building Regulation.

This is relevant for electricians, or allied professionals in the building sector, practicing their trade in England and Wales, as there are different regulations governing Scotland and Northern Ireland.

We are issuing digital credential to learners who have completed this qualification. Please add your learners’ email address during registration. A digital credential cannot be issued without the learner’s email address.
The qualification can be taken as CPD or/and as underpinning knowledge for those progressing toward the NVQ Level3 or apprenticeship routes in the Electrical sector and other CPD provision e.g. 2382-22 Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018.

General Information

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?
You'll be covering the general requirements of the Building Regulations in relation to domestic electrical installations. You'll also look at methods of compliance with the six parts of the Building Regulations most relevant to electrical installations in dwellings. For this certificate you'll learn in a group environment with your training provider. You'll demonstrate what you've learned through an open-book, multiple-choice online assessment.

This qualification will help you gain knowledge of building regulations, helping you advance in your practice as an electrician or in another building trade. 
What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?
To deliver these qualifications you will need suitably qualified staff to carry out training and assessment. To deliver this qualification you'll need to provide your learners with a suitable learning environment and the resources they need to complete the qualification.

You will assess learners using online multiple-choice e-assessment. You will need access to City & Guilds' e-assessment system in order to do the assessment. All learners must be qualified electricians or qualified individuals in an allied trade (who work in England or Wales).
