This Qualification is the mandated knowledge and competence qualification that sits within the Level 2 Maritime Mechanical and Electrical Mechanic apprenticeship (ST0276).

Maritime mechanical and electrical mechanic are employed in the Royal Navy and Merchant Navy.  The engineering knowledge and skills used in the role can be transferred to other entry level engineering roles in other industries. Typical duties within the role include undertaking the testing, fault diagnosis and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and fluid power equipment on ships and submarines.

    What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

    This qualification allows learners to learn and develop the knowledge required for employment and/or career progression in the Maintenance and Engineering sector in the military.

    What Careers Can This Lead To?

    Upon completion of this qualification learners will have developed skills and knowledge required during their Apprenticeship and will enable them to progress into further training. Learners can progress to other Level 3 Engineering Standards.
