 While earning this qualification, you'll cover things like:

• checking the quality and quantity of goods received
• reporting and recording variations in deliveries or damage, breakages, quality or out-of-date items in storage
• procedures for packing items safely, securely and labelling correctly
• health, safety and security when dispatching goods
• identifying documents and systems used for checking availability of stock
• safety procedures for lifting heavy items.

For a Certificate in Warehousing and Storage Principles you'll learn in a group with your training provider. You'll be assessed by a multiple-choice test.

Is this level right for me?

Level 2
This level is ideal if you're new to warehousing and storage and want to get your first job. Or you have some experience in a role where you work under supervision, and want to increase your skills and take on more responsibility.

To deliver these qualifications, you will need suitably qualified staff to carry out training and assessment.

You will also need suitable facilities to carry out the required training to enable learners to achieve industry standards.

For the Certificate in Warehouse and Storage Principles you'll assess learners with a multiple-choice test.

You can get fast-track approval if you offer the Level 2 NVQ in Warehousing and Storage, Level 1 NVQ in Distributive Operations, or the Level 2 NVQ in Distribution, Warehousing and Storage Operations.
