Mobile Air Conditioning (7543)

For technicians working on mobile air conditioning systems containing F gas refrigerants who want to gain a licence to handle refrigerants in compliance with the minimum requirements of Regulation (EC) 307/2008.

 

 

Technicians carrying out certain operations on MAC systems containing F gas refrigerants must have appropriate qualifications. These operations include the removal of F gas refrigerants from all mobile equipment (excluding those undertaking military operations) when the air-conditioning systems are under maintenance or prior to disposal of the equipment.
Trainee personnel are exempt for up to 1 year, but they must work under the supervision of certificated personnel and must be enrolled on a relevant training course.

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

You will need suitably qualified staff to carry out training and assessment.

You will also need suitable facilities to carry out the required training to enable learners to achieve industry standards.

Anyone can take this qualification, but you must make sure all your learners can access the resources they need to complete it.

Level 3

Level 3 will be ideal if you want your first mobile air-conditioning qualification and a licence to handle refrigerants. You might be working in the industry already and want to prove and develop your skills. Or you might be completely new to air-conditioning.

You take two core units at Level 3:

  • Handle refrigerants
  • Basic mobile air-conditioning principles.
