Our range of utilities qualifications support the construction, installation and maintenance of the infrastructure our economy relies upon on a daily basis. They provide the underpinning skills and knowledge for those working on gas, water and electricity distribution networks, as well as those responsible for the direct supervision and operation of winter services vehicles and equipment on the highway network. In addition, many of these qualifications are considered a licence to practice, and an essential requirement to work in some of the industries within the utilities and ancillary sectors.
Working with key industry employers and stakeholders, such as the Highway Authorities & Utilities Committee (HAUC (UK)) and Energy & Utility Skills, we provide solutions to the present and future core skills challenges faced by this dynamic sector. Some of the main qualifications include Electrical Power Engineering and Gas Utilisation. In addition, there are other qualifications, such as Streetworks Excavation and Reinstatement, Confined Spaces, and Safe Location and Avoidance of Underground Services, which are also important for other industries such as construction, building and arboriculture.
Apprenticeships in England are delivered under either apprenticeship standards or SASE frameworks. SASE frameworks are being phased out and replaced by the standards.
A digital credential will be issued to learners who have completed their programme and where a valid email address has been provided.
